Accessibility

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will be a tournament for everybody. So it is vital that everybody can access our website and find out more about the tournament.
To achieve that goal, this website supports the use of magnifiers, screen readers, text-to-speech software and other assistive technologies.
Constant improvement
This website meets the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 standards. Under these guidelines, it is currently a level AA site. We are striving to reach level AAA.
We work with Mada Assistive Technology Center to improve the site wherever possible. Their web accessibility monitor gives us a score of 99/100.
Our aim is a website that provides all visitors with a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
Steps we have taken
Text size
Our website has large text to help with readability.
Users can also increase the text size using the keyboard by holding CTRL and then pressing + (or command + on a Mac). Pressing the - key instead will decrease the text size.
Font kerning
Kerning defines how characters are spaced in words. We use best practice character and line spacing to increase readability, as well as simple, widely recognised font styles.
Hyperlinks
We display links to other webpages in a distinct, easily recognisable style, helping people to identify and use these links.
High-contrast colours
Our website's design aids visibility through high-contrast colour schemes, such as white text on a dark blue background.
Image descriptions
All images on our website have alt text. Screen readers use this to describe an image – or its context or purpose – to people who cannot see the image.
Our aim is to make the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ the most accessible edition of the tournament ever. If you can help us to do this or have any questions about our website's accessibility features, please email [email protected].
