Fans’ Cup FAQs
The Fans’ Cup is a four-day event bringing fans from across the world together to take part in a thrilling five-a-side tournament during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Fans from all 32 competing nations are invited to take part to determine the champions of the fan world.
The Fans’ Cup will be held in Qatar from Tuesday, 29 November to Friday, 2 December 2022.
Each team must comprise of a minimum of 7 players. Entire team should be comprised of the same gender. All players must be aged over 18 and have travel and accommodation secured for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 during the dates of the Fans’ Cup tournament (Tuesday 29th November – Friday 2nd December 2022). All players must be citizens or residents of the national team they seek to represent.
This is a voluntary tournament targeting fans who are in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup.
All players registering to compete in the Fans’ Cup must therefore have their travel and accommodation secured for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 during the dates of the Fans’ Cup (29 November - 2 December).
To register a team, visit qatar2022.qa/en/fanscup and follow registration instructions. Full names and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 match ticket reference numbers for each of the players is required.
The tournament mirrors the FIFA World Cup™ model, with group matches and knockout rounds over four days until the winner is crowned. Matches will start and end early to ensure fans can both compete in the Fans’ Cup and make it to FIFA World Cup matches on time.
Prizes will be revealed once registration is complete and the 32 teams are selected.
