Accessible travel

We want everyone to be able to explore and enjoy Qatar without limits.

Qatar’s transport network was improved to recognise the unique demands of the FIFA World Cup™, which has ensured a range of services and greater connectivity for people with disabilities.


Karwa provided a new fleet of wheelchair accessible taxis to expand the volume and availability of travel options for passengers with disabilities and/ or limited mobility.

These taxis have a dedicated drop-off point close to stadium entrances. 


There are 37 stations on the Doha Metro, which are all fully wheelchair accessible, providing barrier-free entry to all fans.

Qatar Rail’s accessibility features include:

  • Level access boarding
  • Dedicated seating for people with limited mobility
  • Spaces for wheelchair users
  • Family areas
  • Tactile paving inside the stations for visually impaired people
  • Guide dog allowances

Public bus

Mowasalat has introduced:

  • A fleet of low-floor buses
  • Ramped access for wheelchair users
  • One wheelchair space per bus
  • Improved accessibility at bus stops has also been improved to aid the boarding process
