Find out how you can travel to Qatar’s eight spectacular FIFA World Cup 2022™ stadiums – by road and using public transport.

Matchday transportation

Ticketholders can use their Hayya Card and Hayya to Qatar 2022 app for free travel on public transport from 10 November to 23 December. This includes the metro, tram, public buses and tournament bus services.

Travel Tips

  • Hayya Card holders have unlimited free travel from 10 November to 23 December
  • Please plan ahead and set off early
  • Stroller and restricted item storage is available before queuing up for security
  • Stadium gates open 3 hours before kick-off*
  • Stadium car parks open 4 hours before kick-off*
  • If you drive to the stadium, be aware of road closures and disruptions around the venue
  • Taxi, Uber, Careem drop-off/ pick-up areas will be open 4 hours before each match until 1.5 hours after the final whistle*
  • Tournament bus and metro shuttle bus services start 4 hours before kick-off and end 1.5 hours after the final whistle*
  • The metro will run until 3 AM every day during tournament time
  • Change between metro lines at Al Bidda Station (Red and Green) and Msheireb Station (Red, Green and Gold)
  • Don’t rush to leave the stadium straight after the final whistle - stay around and soak up the post-match atmosphere

*Times will vary or be extended for the Opening Match at Al Bayt Stadium and the Final Match at Lusail Stadium

Adjacent to Al Khor Coastal Road, 35km north of central Doha (location map).

During tournament time, your Hayya to Qatar 2022 app is your journey planner. Your app will provide you with real-time travel updates, schedules and transport hub locations. It is also your gateway to free travel on public transport from 10 November to 23 December 2022.

Metro

Lusail QNB Metro Station (Red line) is closest to Al Bayt Stadium.

Tournament-time operating hours:

  • Saturday to Thursday: 6 AM - 3 AM
  • Friday: 9 AM - 3 AM

A shuttle bus service (Service Number S950) will run to/ from Lusail QNB Metro Station (Red line). Allow a minimum of 25 minutes for the bus journey. From the drop-off area, it is a minimum of a 15-minute walk to the stadium. The bus service starts 4 hours before kick-off and ends 1.5 hours after the final whistle.

Expect busy metro carriages before and after matches.

Stadium Express Buses

This is the fastest way to get to the stadium!

This service will operate from dedicated Stadium Express Bus Hubs from central Doha and accommodation sites to Al Bayt Stadium, bringing fans a minimum of a 20-minute walk from the stadium. Buses start running 4 hours before match kick-off and stop 1.5 hours after the final whistle. The last bus before the match will depart the Bus Hub 1 hour before kick-off.

Car parking

Residents and locals are encouraged to drive to the stadiums.

Parking space is located close to the stadium. These car parks will open 4 hours before kick-off and close 1.5 hours after the final whistle. Accessible parking options will be available.

Please arrive early, because car parks will fill up fast.

The drop-off and pick-up area is a minimum of a 25-minute walk to the stadium. This area will open 4 hours before match kick-off and close 1.5 hours after the final whistle.

Traffic diversions to Al Bayt Stadium start 6 hours before match kick-off and end 3 hours after the final whistle.
