Josoor Institute

The first FIFA World Cup™ in the Middle East is shaping the future of Qatar and the region. Education, training and research are at the core of the journey, contributing by building human capital and insight for the successful delivery of the tournament in 2022. Each of these helps create a legacy for future sports and other major events to come. Education, training and research will ultimately strengthen the sports and events industry, contributing towards more diversified, forward-looking economies across the region.
With that in mind, in 2013 the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy created Josoor Institute as its education and training arm, and as a centre of excellence for sports and events management. The goal of Josoor Institute is to develop professionals and volunteers who will directly contribute to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and, in the long term, work in the growing sports and events industry in Qatar and the region - as well as in more mature markets.
Since its launch in 2013, Josoor Institute has delivered education and training to over 4,000 people, in collaboration with 450 guest speakers. The institute’s flagship programme is the Professional Diploma in Sports and Major Events Management, delivered in partnership SDA Bocconi School of Management, the management school of leading Bocconi University in Milan. The programme equips participants with knowledge and skills to thrive in the sports and events industry as it constantly evolves. By 2022, nearly 500 people will have graduated from the diploma, including many members of staff at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and across the greater football family in Qatar.
Josoor Institute’s training addresses first and foremost the specific requirements of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. This includes function-specific and role-specific trainings of workforce and volunteers delivering the tournament, as well as other relevant roles or functions. In addition, Josoor Institute also offers world-class executive leadership development programs in partnership with Leaders in Sports - a premium conference and content platform for leaders in world sport. Bespoke executive trainings for specific groups, or with a specific thematic focus, are also available on demand.
The video below, produced by Josoor Institute, showcases their work in building human capital across sports and major events management - from 2013 to the present day:
