Our expert speakers have specialist knowledge about preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and are eager to share their insights and experience. The Annual Knowledge Sharing Conference 2020 will contribute to the development of skills and expertise across Qatar on the road to 2022.

Othman Zarzour

Executive Director, Competition Venues, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy


Speech: Stadiums: innovation at scale 

With over 20 years in executive management, project management and business development roles, Othman has worked in sports infrastructure, urban development, renewable energy, oil & gas and construction. 

After graduating in engineering from Qatar University, he gained a master's degree in thermal power and fluid mechanics from the University of Manchester. 

His interests include technology development and innovation, and he has published several papers and holds two technology patents.

Afraa Al-Noaimi

Executive Director, Josoor Institute


Speech: Building sports and event capability 

With 13 years of experience under her belt, Afraa is a fierce advocate for sports diplomacy and using education to change people's lives for the better. 

She leads the Josoor Institute team that is raising next generation of sports leaders to become a hub of knowledge for the sports and events industry in the MENA region.


Maryam Al-Muftah

Director, Information Technology, Administration Department, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy


Speech: Cybersecurity capability building at the SC 

Maryam provides leadership on strategy, policies, procedures, guidelines and standards for the SC's IT facilities. 

Her education includes a master's degree in strategic business unit management from HEC Paris and a BSc in computer engineering from Qatar University. 

After working as a Network Engineer, she was appointed Manager of IT Infrastructure at Qatar Investment Authority/ Qatar Holding.


Eid Hamad Al Qahtani

Acting Precinct Director (Education City Stadium), Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy


Speech: Putting it all together: stadium opening 

Eid is responsible for delivering project milestones and objectives at Education City Stadium. His passion and diligence has ensured the stadium build remained on track. 

His qualifications include a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.


Orjan Lundberg

Sustainability and Environmental Subject Matter Expert, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy


Speech: Sustainability in stadium design & development 

Orjan is a vital part of the team overseeing all sustainability and environmental aspects of infrastructure preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. 

Prior to his current position, Orjan was Executive Director at the Green Building Council of Australia, where he led the development and implementation of the Green Star sustainability certification system. 

He has also lectured on sustainability and environmental management in his native Sweden.


Dr Cynthia J Hebsgaard


Director, Education & Training, Josoor Institute


Speech: Building sports and event capability 

With 20 years' experience in Canada's higher education sector, Cynthia's expertise include student affairs administration, strategic enrollment management, international branch campus management, and programme development for executive and continuing education.

She holds a master's degree and a doctorate. As well as being published in multiple journals, Cynthia has held high-level positions at Qatar's branches of Georgetown University, Texas A&M University and the College of the North Atlantic.


Aphrodite Moschoudi

Director, Host Country Operations Planning & Integration, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy

Aphrodite Moschoudi
Speech: Integrated Planning to Deliver Amazing

Aphrodite leads the team planning and integrating 50+ Host Country projects, in close partnership with FIFA and major national stakeholders. She has an extensive portfolio in organising large-scale events and mega-projects, including the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, the Asian Games, the Arab Games and many other world championships.

She was the Director of Operations at the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) and the World Innovation for Education (WISE) for Qatar Foundation. She has also served as Senior Adviser for Strategy and Events at the Qatar Olympic Committee, where she held leading roles for many organising and bidding committees.
