Generation Amazing Youth Festivals
It’s all about football for development at the annual Generation Amazing Youth Festival, which brings together 16 to 25-year-olds.
At the first one in 2019, there were over 140 young people from 22 countries, including those from international and local advocate programmes. Key highlights included events with footballers past and present, football for development workshops led by youth advocates and cultural performances.
The education side of things covers fundamental principles of active citizenship, taught through football and project management. And then workshops show young people how to set up social development initiatives around football facilities, events and reaching out to the community.
Celebrating young people
The festival is an exciting, valuable experience for some of Generation Amazing’s most promising young leaders – and we couldn’t do it without our local and international partners.

The football for good tournament is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, plus a chance for young people to apply all the technical and personal skills they’ve picked up. And to close the festival, an awards ceremony celebrates participants’ achievements, alongside live performances and unique cultural activities.
