Stadium 974 Legacy
Few stadiums will have a legacy as far-reaching as that of Stadium 974.
For the first time in FIFA World Cup™ history, a host venue will be fully demountable. This process will be simplified by an innovative design that incorporates shipping containers.
Demonstrating new possibilities
Further to the physical legacy left by this remarkable arena, it will also inspire a global audience to pick up a ball and emulate the superstars they see in action at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. It also shows those planning future stadium development – and nations bidding for future editions of the FIFA World Cup™ and other sporting events – that a venue can be visually appealing and cost-effective.
In its short lifetime, Stadium 974 is setting a new benchmark and guiding the way towards more sustainable and more legacy-driven sporting competitions, opening up hosting opportunities to countries all over the world.

The legacy at home
People who live close to the stadium site will enjoy a verdant waterfront development that will occupy the site once the stadium has gone. Work will begin soon after the final whistle brings the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ to an end.
